This year the water in the main Nxamaseri channel was clearer than we have ever seen it.
In the crystal-clear waters of the channel in Botswana's Okavango Delta, we came across a six-foot Nile crocodile (Crocodilus niloticus) lurking in a cave under a hollowed-out bank.
It was a beautiful specimen, totally unblemished and intact. The large reptile moved easily, tiptoeing with typical bouncing gait along the sand, stumbling a bit over the obstacles in its path.
