The benefits of high-definition
One of the benefits of visiting Earth-Touch.com is being able to download our high definition (HD) videos. Now you can watch superb wildlife footage whenever you like, on whichever digital media player you prefer (iPod, computer, digital TV).
Videos come in two formats: standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD). These terms refer to the resolution of the video. SD has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. This works well online, on your iPod or on regular TV screens. HD has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The higher the resolution, the clearer the video and the crisper the detail. HD looks best on big plasma and LCD screens.
We also have two audio options: ambient and commentary. Ambient is the natural soundtrack provided by the animals and environment while filming. Commentary is a voice-over about the footage you are viewing.
Downloading a video is really simple.
- Click through to a story you want to watch (either from the home page or via search functions).
- Find the download options. Look at the right-hand side of the page. The download options are below the video box and the image gallery.
- Choose the resolution you want to download (either SD480p or HD720p).
- Choose the audio option you prefer (ambient or commentary).
- Click on the button of your choice. This will cause a pop-up to appear which gives you the choice of either opening (watching) or saving the file.
- When it has downloaded, watch and enjoy.
